CHAPTER TEN
OF EFFECTUAL CALLING

I. What God Does for Those who are Predestinated unto Life

        A. Effectually calls them by His Word and His Spirit out of a state of sin, and death

        B. Enlightens their minds spiritually and savingly to understand the things of God

        C. Takes away their heart of stone

        D. Gives them a heart of flesh

        E. Renews their wills

        F. Determines them to that which is good

        G. Effectually drawing them to Jesus Christ

        H. Are made willing to come most freely to Him

II. The Effectual Call

        A. Of God's free and special grace alone and not from anything at all foreseen in man

        B. Man passive in this until he is enabled to answer this call
             and to embrace the grace offered and conveyed in it

III. Elect infants and other elect persons not capable of being
       outwardly called by the ministry of the Word

        A. Regenerated

        B. Saved

IV. The Non-elect

        A. Have some common operations of the Spirit

        B. Do not profess faith

        C. Pattern their lives after the light of nature or the laws of the religion they do profess in an attempt to be
             saved

        D. It is pernicious and detestable to assert or teach that someone who falls into one of these categories may
             be saved.
