        A. The distance between God and Man is so great

II. The Covenant of Works was a covenant wherein life was
      promised to Adam and his posterity upon the condition of
      perfect and personal obedience.

III. The Covenant of Grace

        A. Freely offered unto sinners

        B. The requirements of the Covenant of Grace is faith in Christ

        C. Gifts of the Covenant of Grace to those who are ordained unto eternal life

                1. The Holy spirit

                2. To make sinners willing and able to believe

V. The Old Testament

        A. The Administration of the Old Testament Covenant

                1. Administered by promises

                2. Administered by prophecies

                3. Administered by sacrifices

                4. Administered by circumcision

                5. Administered by the Paschal Lamb

        B. Administration done and efficacy achieved through the operation of the Holy Spirit

        C. Purpose of The Old Testament Covenant was to instruct and build up the elect in faith in the promised
             Messiah

VI. The New Testament

        A. Administration of the New Testament

                1. Administered by the preaching of the Word

                2. Administered by the Sacraments

                        a. The Lord's Supper

                        b. Baptism

        B. More fullness in these fewer, simpler signs of the New Dispensation

        C. New Dispensation to Jews and Gentiles

        D. One Covenant of Grace under various dispensations
